We believe professional trades are an overlooked, yet outstanding opportunity for young adults and career seeking individuals. In Michigan, the state predicts there will be 545,000 new professional trade job openings by 2026. This equates to approximately 47,000 jobs available each year through 2026. Professional and skilled trade jobs empower individuals with the knowledge and talent for well-paying, sustainable careers as well as help build quality lives and advance our community. Schools offering career and technical training connect students to in-demand jobs providing a pipeline of career-ready talent. We have a chance to help disadvantaged young adults make the most of these opportunities and it is our mission to do so.

OCC Turns Potential into Highly Skilled, Highly Paid Professionals

OCC empowers our students to find their passion and their path. We are focused on providing learning environments in which students excel, such as our new state-of-the art professional trades labs.

Students can fast track their career by pursuing a certificate program or associate degree at OCC with little or no debt and begin working in as few as 12-24 months.

Currently, there are immediate openings in the professional trades, which offer average salaries of more than $50,000 in a variety of industries like culinary, automotive, robotics, advanced manufacturing, machining, welding and more. OCC features newly renovated labs, in-demand programs and small classes led by industry professionals.
